Introduction to psychodrama & integrative psychotherapy –
a practice based approach
This 3 day course provides an introduction to psychodrama psychotherapy and action methods. It is recommended for individuals who work therapeutically in clinical or education settings and in organisational consultation.
The course focuses on 3 main action techniques, and how these can be applied in practice using an integrative approach to enhance practice in both group and individual contexts.
It will not provide a full training in psychodrama psychotherapy but the hours can count towards the advanced diploma in psychodrama psychotherapy that is also offered by Oxford School of Psychodrama and Integrative psychotherapy (OSPIP).
The method of teaching includes academic seminars, discussion work groups and experiential leaning.
Themes covered include:
Psychodrama and its origins
The main techniques of Psychodrama: the double, mirror and role –reversal
Movement through a psychodrama
Child and human development theory - a psychodrama perspective on attachment
Sociometry: the study of human interaction and group dynamics
Psychodrama as a model of integration for psychodynamic practice, CBT, DBT, MBT
The evidence base.
